FAQ: Billing and Payments
How do I pay?
- You can pay by Direct Debit, credit card (Mastercard and Visa) or debit card (Switch and Solo) either on our website or over the phone. Please note, however, that credit card payments will incur a £2 per month surcharge.
When will I be billed?
- Payments are taken instantaneously for one-off charges (e.g. Installation Fee, broadband equipment / accessories and UK / International Domain Names), monthly in advance for fixed service charges (e.g. subscriptions for the service, International Call Option, extra call features, Static IP address, and ISP package upgrades), and monthly in arrears for variable service charges (e.g. phone calls).
- At the end of the calendar month in which your service is activated, you will be billed the pro-rata amount to the end of the month, plus a month in advance for the following month’s subscription.
Are my card details safe if I purchase online?
- Any payment card details sent to us are encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology. This is industry standard technology that protects the card details whilst they are being sent over the internet and stops them from being intercepted and misused.
How will I receive my bill?
- Bulldog charges you monthly for all your Bulldog services: broadband, phone line rental, phone calls and anything else you buy from us on a regular basis. It all appears on an online bill called E-Bill which you’ll find in your personal ‘my bulldog account’ section on the left-side menu in the Bulldog Lounge. You’ll be notified about your new monthly bill by email – so make sure you’ve provided us a current, active email address – or that you’ve activated one we’ve set up for you.
What can I see on my bill?
-
Your E-bill summaries all of our charges and your payments as well as providing a lot of additional detail should you need it. And it’s conveniently in one area – you just click the screen you want to view. For instance, you can click to see:
- Monthly Package Charges
Include your fixed monthly charges for broadband and your phone line. If you benefit from promotional discount on your package, it will be included here too – as well as any other services you buy for a standard monthly price. - One-Off Charges
Displays any one-off charges such as connection for a new line - Phone Call and Broadband Usage Charges
Includes any phone calls made and broadband usage which aren’t included in the monthly package charge - Payment received
Displays any amount you’ve already paid towards the amount due on your last bill - Amount due
Shows how much you have to pay after all our charges, discounts and your previous payment have been taken into account - And much, much more
Including when and how we’ll take payment from you, any credits or additional charges to your account, any equipment purchased and any pro-rata charges if you’ve joined or upgraded part-way through the month. You’ll also see a helpful ‘details’ link next to many items that enables you to take closer look at your calls and usage etc..
Are call charges rounded when they are billed?
- Call charges are rounded to the nearest second.
Is there a credit limit?
- Yes, there is a credit limit of £150 per month to cover all cost elements of the Bulldog combined broadband and phone packages. The credit limit is assigned to protect customers from fraud and excessive expenditure. The £150 limit includes all recurring charges (including monthly subscription) plus phone usage charges. Should you near your limit, Bulldog, shall contact you to advise you. Bulldog may, at its discretion, extend the credit limit in certain cases.
