Can I get Small Business Plus?

  • If your telephone line can support more than 8 Mbp/s we offer Small Business Plus. The download speeds you’ll receive will be between 8 Mbp/s and 20 Mbp/s. The upload speed will be up to 1 Mbp/s.

Do I need a specific router for Small Business Plus?

  • Small Business Plus comes with an ADSL2+ router which supports both hard-wired and wireless connections.

How Small Business Plus is different from Small Business?

  • Small Business Plus supports higher broadband speeds: downloads at up to 20 Mbp/s and uploads up to 1 Mbp/s. It also comes with a wireless router. This router supports Bulldog Business 2nd and 3rd phone lines so if you choose these options you do not need any other equipment. All the other features are the same as Small Business, as are the optional services you can choose.

I am an existing Small Business or Pro@ctive customer can I get Small Business Plus?

  • Yes you can if your telephone line can support the higher speed of Small Business Plus. You can check by putting your phone number and postcode in the availability checker on our web site. If your line does support the higher speeds simply email your reference to bcs@bulldogbusiness.com. We will call you back to help you upgrade. Please Note: there is an upgrade fee of £80.00 + VAT

How do I find out if Bulldog’s broadband and phone services are available in my area?

What is the connection or installation charge?

  • If you are transferring from a BT line, the standard connection charge is £30. Where a new line is required, the standard charge is £99. We frequently run special offers on connection charges. You can find out more in the product sections of this website.

Can I get these services if I don't have a BT line?

  • Yes. Bulldog can install a new line for you. The standard cost is £99. To check if Bulldog is running a special offer visit the product page for the broadband service you are interested in receiving.

Can cable customers receive the services?

  • Yes, but we will need to install a new line that will replace your cable phone service. This will mean cancelling your existing cable service and transferring your phone and broadband (if applicable) to Bulldog. The standard connection cost for a new line is £99 and we frequently run special offers. You can find out more in the product sections of this website.

How long is the contract length with these services?

  • The contract length for Small Business services is 12 months. Bulldog BizTime 1 & 2 meg broadband also have a 12 month contract as well.

How do I get the service connected and installed?

  • If you already have a BT line then you simply have to wait to receive the equipment you've ordered and Bulldog will notify when you connection is live. Please visit the Installation Q&A for instructions on how to connect to your new broadband service. Customers who have ordered a new line will require a visit from an engineer.

How soon after I've signed up can I use the service?

  • For Small Business customers, the service is normally installed within 30 working days. You can continue to use your existing services right up until the transfer is made to your new Bulldog line. You can also track the progress of your order online - here

Can I subscribe to Small Business if I already have a broadband service with another provider?

  • Yes, most broadband providers have a 12 month contract period so please check the terms of your contract with your service provider.

Are there any services or features that conflict with Small Business services?

  • If you have any of the following, your order would be initially rejected. In this instance, we would notify you so that you can decide on your course of action, and if possible change or cancel the listed service(s), which we cannot cancel on your behalf. Can I get your service if I have an ISDN/Home and Business Highway service?

  • Yes. Bulldog will contact you if any action is required on your part.

How can you tell whether my phone line can support a Small Business service?

  • When you type your phone number and postcode into the availability checker, an initial line check is performed. This determines what speed your phone line can support based on the quality of the line and its distance from your local public (phone) exchange.

What happens if my phone line cannot support the full 8 Mbps Small Business service?

  • Bulldog endeavours to provide the fastest service that your line can support, up to 8 Mbps. If your line cannot support 8 Mbps then we offer the fastest rate your line can support above 2 Mbps.

What happens if my phone line cannot support more than 2 Mbps Small Business service?

  • If your line cannot support more than 2 Mbps then we will offer you Small Business Lite as an alternative. Small Business Lite is identical to the Small Business service except for the fact that the Small Business Lite is capped at 2 Mbps downstream and 2nd and 3rd line voice services are not available. Small Business Lite comes at a reduced price to reflect the reduction in downstream speed.
